Gift giving is not only an age-old tradition but it is also an art. The art is in knowing what to give to whom and what is suitable for people. Leather portfolios are not only for paper, they also have holds and pockets for things like pens, PDAs, mobile phones, thumb drives, personal media players etc. So no matter what your busy executive likes to carry around, a good and robust Leather Portfolio will be a good gift.

Other than the leather portfolios, you can also gift leather pad holders. These are absolutely ideals things to carry to a meeting instead of having to carry an entire briefcase. The person can simply carry in this great looking leather pad holder and take the notes on it. The great looks are sure to catch the eyes of everyone around him.

As you look through the different models available at the great online gift stores, you will find that there are several different variants of each of these products. From minimalistic ones to others that are more fully featured have more space. There are zippered portfolios, ones with ring binders and other with special pockets for hold cards and similar objects. Some pad holders have a separate pocket on the side for files and other such papers. If you are not sure which one to pick, look closely and find something that works great as a general-purpose portfolio or padfolio.

Which is the best Day Pack (i.e. combo Back Pack / briefcase) out there for city commuters?

I recently started taking the train to work and now have to carry two bags - one for work stuff and one for workout stuff. I'm looking to consolidate my laptop and its accessories (charger, mouse, etc.), a portfolio (roughly the size of a three-ring binder), pair of running shoes (size 13), workout clothes (t-shirt, shorts, etc.) and a small Shaving Kit into one bag. I've been able to find back packs that can accommodate either my work stuff or my workout stuff, but I haven't found a bag that's actually been designed to accommodate both. I can't believe such a bag doesn't already exist and I'm hoping some veteran city commuter can help me find one. Can you help?

Why do you need to carry your running shoes and shaving kit with you back and forth? Why not leave those at the office in a bag you can take to the gym? Then you are only carrying your clothes which should fit in one bag with your work stuff. Right? The money you save by NOT buying a new bag you can buy a second pair of running shoes for use at home. Most larger laptop bags should be able to accomodate the rest of the stuff. I would get something in nylon or synthetics since leather weighs about 50 percent more. Check either Eagle Creek or Targus or check Overstock.com for clearance items.
