If your situation allows, caring for a sick animal at home usually enables the animal to heal faster and quicker. The home ground provides a safe haven to your pet, with all the familiarity as compared to the busy veterinary hospital. However, if your animal has a serious or life threatening condition such as severe vomiting or is involved in a car accident, it is advisable to leave your animal in the veterinary hospital with professional the vets.

When your animal is sick, it will want to be left alone in a safe and warm place, with access to fresh air and sunlight to allow nature to heal the condition. Sometimes, they will fast instinctively as part of the healing response. As a pet owner, it is essential to provide comfortable bedding in a cosy spot free from drafts, disturbances and loud noises so that your pet can rest quietly and feel protected. Ensure that the area is clean with regular changes of the blankets or towels as necessary. Do not force your pet to go into the sunlight unless your pet desires it.

Bathing & Cleaning

When your pet is sick, try not to force your pet to take a bath unless it is necessary as in situations where it has fouled itself by vomiting, diarrhea or skin discharge. Again, you should take on this task only when the animal is recovering and its temperature is normal. The only exception is when your pet is covered heavily with parasites, then a soapy bath is needed to drown the parasites. During the bath, ensure that your pet does not get chilled. Dry him up quickly with a dryer set on low, holding it away from the fur. This can be followed by a warm sunbath if your pet desires it.

Cleaning the nose

If secretions have formed on the nose, gently clean the nose with a soft cloth or gauze saturated in warm water. When the nose is clean, smear some almond oil on the area. Apply two or three times a day.

Cleaning the eyes

To clean up crusts and secretions forming around the eyes or eyelids, prepare Â¼ teaspoon of sea salt into a cup of distilled or filtered water. Stir well and apply the soft cloth or gauze on the mixture to clean the eyes. When cleaned, put one drop of one of the following soothing treatments in each eye: almond oil (for mild irritation), Castor oil for more irritated and inflamed eyes) or cod liver oil (for eyes that are dry or ulcerated).

Cleaning the ears

If the ears contain oily or waxy secretion, pre-warm Â½ teaspoon of almond oil in a cup that is partly immersed in a bowl of hot water. Hold firmly on the ear flap and trickle the almond oil into the ear hole by using a dropper or squeeze bottle. With the other hand, move your fingers to the bottom of the ear (externally) and massage gently. If you do right, you will hear a squishy sound. After a few seconds, remove any excess oil and materials with a tissue. Don't use a cotton swab except around the opening.

If the ear is very red and inflamed, put 2 green tea bags in a cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 10 minutes and take the bags out. When cooled down, use to flush out the ears. On the other hand, if the ear is painful when touched at the massage point but shows no discharge, some foreign body may be inside the ear canal. It is best to have your vet examine the ear and determine the cause of the pain.

Cleaning the anus

Often the anus will get very inflamed as a result of excessive diarrhea, causing the surrounding tissue to get irritated and sometimes infected with bacteria. To keep this area clean during the diarrhea stage of an illness, sponge it gently with a damp cloth as rubbing can further irritates it. Pat it dry and then apply some calendula ointment. Apply tow or three times a day or as needed.

Animal Crossing City Folk Fruit Furniture Set?

I am try to get the fruit furniture set for my animal crossing city folk game for wii, and i was wondering if anybody was willing to sell me some of their fruit furniture...im not quite to sure how to do that but im sure you guys will tell me how...Tell me what you want to sell and price and ill get back to you =)

Okay so send a letter to all your animals in the town and attach a gift like fruit.
They will reply with more fruit, clothes or furniture.
The next tip is to check the recycling bin often animals throw away stuff that you may want.

The third tip is to swap with an animal.
If you want the melon chair and an animal has it try sending it another chair that they may like in a letter and they may swap it out. Later check the recycling bin and it may be in there.
