How can i get hairspray off a leather bag?

I bought a very nice Leather Travel Bag, and a bottle of hairspray was in the bottom of it. Throughout the process of traveling, the hairspray lid was forced down and sprayed the entire bottle in the bottom corner of this bag. I have tried using soap while soaking in water for an extended period of time, and even though it looks better, the darkened/hardened stain is still there. Help!

Hairspray is just a glue with a silicone that makes it water resistant.
You can try vinegar but other than that you are dealing with a glue and you may be best served finding a chemical remover from the home hardware department.
